Miguel is a character who first appeared in Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 0, and from the perspective of Jujutsu college, he was an enemy, not an ally.

Miguel appeared in a very few scenes in volume 0 of Jujutsu Kaisen, so there is not much information about him.

However, he has a strong impression of “stopping Gojo“, and the more Gojo’s monstrousness is revealed, the more Miguel’s greatness is talked about.

In the main story, Miguel is either an ally or an enemy, but it might be more accurate to say that he is only an ally due to the pressure of Satoru Gojo.

Miguel is a foreign sorcerer. Furthermore, he seems to use techniques and spells that are unique to his homeland, as he used a cursed tool “Black rope” that Gojo had never seen before.

When he stopped Satoru Gojo, it was probably due to the effectiveness of “Black rope“, but Miguel’s own techniques may also have been used in many places.

Miguel’s domain expansion

There is no mention of Miguel’s domain expansin in the story.

Even if he could have used it, he probably wouldn’t have used it against Gojo because he would have been overpowered by the “Unlimited Void” and would have been trapped.

Miguel’s cursed tool “Black rope”!

While Suguru Geto was attacking the Jujutsu technical college in “Night Parade of a Hundred Demons” in Jujutsu Kaisen volume 0.

Miguel was stopping Gojo in his tracks.

And Miguel made full use of the “Black rope“, a cursed tool with a rare but special technique that disturbs the opponent’s technique, and survives Gojo’s onslaught for several dozen minutes.

For this “Black rope”, which Miguel’s country’s sorcerer has been weaving for decades, is so inexcusable that when it is used by Satoru Gojo, more than half of it is shaved off in a matter of minutes.

Although Miguel had a special effect of “Black rope”, he was able to hold Gojo back for tens minutes.

When written in words, it is “mere stoppage”, but this is an extraordinary feat for a sorcerer.

As for the “one minute within a four-meter radius” requirement, Jogo was pissed, describing it as “an impossible task“, which showed just how much of a monster Gojo really is.

In the case of Miguel, of course, it would have been impossible to stop him if the condition of “within a radius of four meters” had been applied, but even so, it is a tremendous achievement that he survived unharmed against Gojo.

Incidentally, in the Shibuya Incident, even if all four of the special cursed spirits were used against Gojo, they were no match for him, and one of them (i.e. Hanami) was exorcised.

[Jujutsu Kaisen] Miguel goes abroad with Yuta Okkotsu! Are they on the same side now?

Miguel was on Suguru Geto’s side in Jujutsu Kaisen volume 0, but in the man story, he is seen staying abroad with Yuta Okkotsu.

Miguel initially cooperated with Geto, as do Larue, Mimiko and Nanako, with the aim of “making Suguru Geto king“.

However, this goal was defeated when Geto died.

After that, Miguel was scouted (or rather captured) by Gojo and went abroad with Yuta Okkotsu.

The purpose is to find the rest of the “Black rope” that Miguel once had, and Yuta Okktsu and Miguel visited Africa.

However, in chapter 145, Yuta said that he couldn’t find the “Black rope” after all.

The door picture of the 33rd chapter of the 4th volume of the manga shows Yuta Okkotsu and Miguel abroad.

From the looks of it, they don’t seem to have an adversarial relationship, so Miguel is on Yuta’s side at this point.

And in the background we see a huge tree, a baobab tree. It’s unclear whether he’s visiting Miguel’s homeland or simply on business in this country, but it seems likely that he’s visiting Africa, where baobab trees are abundant.

By the way, baobab trees are widely distributed in savannah areas, and as you can see from this image, they grow into thick trunks.

They usually grow to a height of about 30 metres and a diameter of about 10 metres, with the world’s largest baobab tree growing to a height of 47 metres and a diameter of 15 metres.

[Jujutsu Kaisen] Miguel is a friend of the magic technical college?

As I mentioned earlier, Miguel was working with Yuta Okkotsu, so at least they don’t seem to be enemies.

With Geto’s death, Miguel’s goal of “making Geto king” has been ruined, so he may have made some kind of deal with Gojo to bring him to his side.

Or it could be that he is still an enemy, but is cooperating with technical college in some kind of binding vow.

The “Black rope” was woven by a sorcerers in Miguel’s homeland, so it seems that the country is at least quite developed in jujutsu technique.

Gojo said that “Miguel talks like Bobby Orogon”, and if this is a foreshadowing, Miguel’s country of origin may be Nigeria like Bobby Orogon.

By the way, the baobab tree is also distributed in Nigeria, so it is possible that Miguel was visiting Nigeria with Yuta Okkotsu in chapter 33 of volume 4 of the manga.

In chapter 137, Yuta Okkotsu finally appeared in the main story for the first time.

He had been appointed as “the executioner of Yuji Itadori” by the Jujutsu headquarter.

What is interesting here is the existence of Miguel, who was accompanying him abroad.

I’d like to know if he went back to Japan with Yuta, or if he broke the contract and stayed abroad, or if he’s still on our side.
