This article discusses the possibility that Masamichi Yaga, the principal of the Tokyo technical college, is a mole/traitor.
He is the principal of the Tokyo college and is responsible for watching over the students of the college, while being pushed around by the free spirited Satoru Gojo.
There have been rumours for a long time about Masamichi Yaga, that he is a mole/traitor in the story of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Then, in episode 137, a shocking development occurs.
First of all, I will explain how the story of the traitor came up.
- The decision made by Masamichi Yaga in episode 137
- Why people think that Masamichi is an mole/traitor?
- The suspicion that Masamichi Yaga is a mole/traitor is a false theory.

[Jujutsu Kaisen] There are moles/traitors in the upper echelons of the technical college! Is Masamichi Yaga suspicious?
At the time of the 33rd chapter of the 4th volume of the manga, Satoru Gojo told Utahime Iori that there was a mole inside the technical college, and asked her to investigate the inside man in secret.
Later, in the 79th chapter of the 9th volume of the manga, Utahime’s investigation revealed that Kokichi Muta (aka, Mechamaru) of the Kyoto school is one of the mole, but at the same time, it was discovered that there are also informants at the principal or higher levels.
The only characters above the head of the school are Masamichi Yaga, the principal of the Tokyo school, and Yoshinobu Gakuganji, the principal of the Kyoto school.
[Jujutsu Kaisen] Masamichi Yaga was sentenced to death on suspicion of being a mole/traitor! (Vol.16, chapter 137)
In the 137th chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, the Shibuya Incident was over and a shocking notice was issued to Masamichi Yaga by the jujutsu headquarter.
- Suguru Geto’s survival has been confirmed, and he has been sentenced to death again.
- Satoru Gojo has been deemed an accomplice in the Shibuya Incident and is thus permanently exiled from the jujutsu world. Futhermore, removing his seal will be considered a criminal act.
- Masamichi Yaga shall receive the death penalty for inciting Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto and causing the Shibuya Incident.
- The suspension of Yuji Itadori’s death sentence is revoked and the execution is to be carried out immediately.
- Special grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu is appointed Yuji Itadori’s executioner.
He was found guilty of “inciting Gojo and Geto to cause the Shibuya Incident” and was sentenced to death.
However, this notice also makes Satoru Gojo a co-conspirator in the Shibuya Incident, and forbids him to break the sea, which shows the corruption of the upper echelons of the jujutsu world.
So, let’s find out if Masamichi Yaga is actually an insider, based on his words and actions in the story.
[Jujutsu Kaisen] Was Yaga Masamichi in league with Kenjaku? Is he really a mole/traitor?
In chapter 137, Masamichi Yaga was found guilty of death by the upper echelons of the jujutsu world, but was he actually connected to Kenjaku as an informant?
In this section, we will explain the events, words and deeds that make us think that Masamichi Yaga is suspicious.
First-year students alone are appointed to a exorcising a special grade cursed spirits. (Vol. 1, chapter 6)
A special grade cursed spirit appeared in the Eishu boys’ Home, and in the 6th chapter of the 1st volume of the manga, the first-year students were given the task of identifying and rescuing the survivors of the boy’s home.
At that time, Megumi Fushiguro was a second-grade sorcerer, Nobara Kugisaki was a third-grade spellcaster, and Yuji Itadori did not even know the grade of the sorcerer.
This is a shame, as the mission is normally carried out by a sorcerer of the same grade as the cursed spirit.
And as Gojo later mentioned, it was strange that these members were appointed to a mission involving a special grade cursed sprit, and that this was arranged by the upper echelons of the jujutsu world in order to have Yuji die.
It is unclear whether the Principal of the technical college, Masamichi Yaga, has the authority to interfere in the appointment of the sorcerers, but if he does, he would have tolerated this mismatch.
Appearance of Jogo (Vol. 2, chapter 13)
In the 13th chapter of the 2nd volume of the manga, Satoru Gojo, who was supposed to meet Masamichi Yaga at his home, was traveling in a car driven by Kiyotaka Ijichi.
Then Gojo sensed a strange presence, so he sent Ijichi on ahead of him and engaged Jogo.
In the first place, he appeared with pinpoint accuracy at Gojo’s place while he was traveling by car, and this attack itself would have been impossible if he didn’t know Gojo’s schedule.
Therefore, this event itself is also a scene of suspicion for Masamichi Yaga.
However, attacking Gojo in such a deserted place would be rather counterproductive, as it would allow Gojo to show his true strength.
It seems that Yaga could have foreseen that this would happen, so the person whose suspicion of being an mole/traitor is deepened by this scene may be Kiyotaka Ijichi.
Visiting Tengen at the goodwill event (Vol. 6, chapter 45)
In the 45th chapter of the 6th volume of the manga, Hanami attacked during the goodwill event, and the teachers and Mei Mei who were present did with it.
In the midst of all this, Masamichi Yaga went to Tengen’s place to protect him from the enemy, just in case they got their hands on him.
And after the attack on Hanami and his friends at the goodwill event, Ijichi reported human casualties in the 53rd chapter of volume 7 of the manga.
In a series of attacks, some sorcerers, assistant managers and storage attendants were killed.
While Yaga was on his way to Tengen’s place, Mahito broke into the “storage” where the special grade cursed charms were kept, and took away “Sukuna fingers” and “Kusozu cursed womb“.
This is also where Yaga’s suspicion is rumoured to be, but the reason why Mahito reached “storage” was because he had made a cursed mark on Sukuna’s finger, which he had college retrieve, and was able to trace it back.
Also, as only Tengen knew the location of the ‘storage’, there was no way for Yaga to guide him to it.
Therefore, this scene is a weak evidence of a traitor.
Yaga is related to Yuki Tsukumo? (Volume 9, chapter 77)
In the 77th chapter of the 9th volume of the manga, the past episode of Gojo and Geto is told, and Geto met Yuki Tsukumo for the first time.
Yuki is aiming for “a world where no spirits are born“, and one of the answers is that “all humans should become sorcerers“.
The encounter with Yuki was one of the triggers for Geto to fall into darkness, as he had been depressed in many ways due to the death of Riko Amanai and his distrust of non-sorcerers.
On the Internet, there are many theories, such as “Yuki and Yaga originally knew each other” and “the two of them are the same age”, and there is also a view that this meeting itself “Geto was induced by Masamichi Yaga to fall into the darkness”.
However, this is also a weak basis for an inside man/traitor.
The mystery of Suguru Geto’s body (Vol. 11, chapter 90)
In chapter 90 of volume 11 of the manga, Geto(Kenjaku) pointeds out to Gojo Satoru that he did not entrust the disposal of Geto’s body to Shoko Ieiri.
Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, and Shoko Ieiri were classmates at the technical college before Geto’s fall into darkness.
For this reason, Gojo seemed to have avoided having Shoko dispose of the bodies of his former classmates, leaving the task to others.
When it comes to the disposal of the body of Geto, a special grade curse-user, the method and route of disposal must have involved people of a very high rank, and it is not surprising that the principal of the college, Masamichi Yaga, was involved in the decision.
In addition, Masamichi is the former homeroom teacher of Geto, so it is natural that he is taking full responsibility for the disposal of the body.
As Geto(Kenjaku) says, “Thanks to that, I was able to obtain this body without much trouble.“, so there is no possibility that Masamichi Yaga was involved in the arrangement of the body.
Yaga was by the side of Shoko Ieiri during the Shibuya Incident. (Vol. 13, chapter 113)
In the 113th chapter of the 13th volume of the manga, we see Masamichi Yaga escorting Shoko during the Shibuya Incident.
Shoko Ieiri is an extremely rare talent who can heal using the reverse cursed technique, especially when it comes to “healing others”, which even Satoru Gojo cannot do.
For this reason, she can be a great threat to the enemy and is the first target. So it’s not unnatural that Masamichi Yaga, a first-grade sorcerer, is his escort.
On the other hand, if Masamichi Yaga was an mole/traitor, he might have been on the side of Shoko to make sure he would be killed if Kenjaku side did not attack Shoko.
Since there is no evidence, it is a conspiracy theory, but for the moment, I am also worried about the safety of Shoko after the Shibuya Incident.
[Jujutsu Kaisen] Is Masamichi Yaga’s alleged mole/traitor a false accusation?
Now that we have discussed the death sentense of Masamichi Yaga and the suspicion that he was a traitor, we will also discuss the possibility that he was falsely accused.
In chapter 137, Masamichi Yaga was found guilty of death for the following reasons
First of all, I personally do not believe in the charges against Masamichi Yaga, because I do not believe in the upper echelons of the jujutsu world, who have made Satoru Gojo a co-conspirator of Geto(Kenjaku).
Another reason for not trusting the jujtsu world’s upper echelons is the state of Toge Inumaki.
Yuta Okkotsu had a strong desire to kill Yuji because “Yuji Itadori cut Inumaki’s arm“, and he also took on Yuji’s executioner.
On the other hand, if you look at the condition of Toge Inumaki, it is true that the left arm is missing, but for some reason, a “cursed mark” is wrapped around it.
He doesn’t use a bandage but use the cursed mark, so the upper echelons are up to something.
For example, it is possible that the upper echelons of the jujutsu world are planning to “prevent the technique with a spell mark so that Shoko can not treat him“.
In addition, Yuta said that “Yuji Itadori cut Inumaki’s arm“, but the map of the events of the Shibuya Incident shows that this is unlikely.
On the map above, the area where the Sukuna inside Yuji Itadori was running riot is around the red circle at the top of the map.
At this area, he activated his domain expansion “Malevolent shrine“, turning the 140m square radius into a clear land.
On the other hand, the place where Toge Inumaki was leading people with his megaphone was near Shibuya station (around the red circle at the middle to the right of the map), much further from the range of Sukuna’s “Malevolent shrine“.
Of course, Sukuna was quite violent in the battle with Jogo, and it is possible that in the aftermath of that battle, the arm of Toge Inumaki may have been cut down by Sukuna, but still, the spell mark wrapped around Inumaki smells fishy.
Even if it’s true that “Yuji cut Inumaki’s arm“, it was the work of Sukuna, and whether it’s true or not is highly questionable.
Therefore, since the upper echelons of the jujutsu world cannot be trusted in the first place, there is a high possibility that Masamihi Yaga’s charges and suspicion of being a mole/traitor are also made up a false accusation.
[Jujutsu Kaisen] The truth about Masamichi Yaga’s alleged mole/traitor! He is finally executed in chapter 147!
In the 147th chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, the situation of Masamichi Yaga is described.
Masamichi was taken into custody by the upper echelons of the jujutsu world, and was persistently asked about “how to make Panda“.
The reason for this is that Panda is completely self-sustaining cursed corpses, and unlike ordinary cursed corpses, their cursed energy is self-sufficient.
equals to
“the ability to create an army of sorcerers”.
Therefore, the upper management considered the existence of Masamichi Yaga to be dangerous.
However, Masamichi did not tell them how to make Panda, and only told them when he was fatally wounded by the executioner Yoshinobu Gakuganji.
Thus, Masamichi Yaga was executed by the sorcerers, and Panda lost his creator/father.
Conclusion of “[Jujutsu Kaisen] Masamichi Yaga is mole/traitor? Sentenced to death for betrayal!”
In this article, we have discussed the possibility that Masamichi Yaga, was a traitor, the reason for his death sentence, and the theory that he was in league with Geto(Kenjaku).
The story of the 147th chapter shows that the upper echelons of the jujutsu world considered Masamichi Yaga’s rare ability to be dangerous, which is why he was convicted of death.
Once again, we see how corrupt the upper echelons of the jujutsu world is.
