[Jujutsu Kaisen] The cute scenes of Mai Zen’in from the Jujutsu Kaisen!
The following is a list of the most popular scenes for Mai Zen’in in the story, in chronological order.
The first time she appears in the story, she is so called “natural born agitator” and makes a very bad first impression.
But as the story progresses, she is gradually settled down.
Mai Zen’in’s first appearance and first attack (vol. 2, chapter 16)
The first appearance of Mai Zen’in was in the 16th chapter of the 2nd volume, when Kasumi Miwa, Aoi Todo and Mai Zen’in came to accompany Yoshinobu Gakuganji when he visited the Tokyo school.
By the way, the main purpose of Miwa is to see Satoru Gojo, Todo is to shake hands with Takada-chan, and Mai Zen’in is to stir up trouble.
And Mai told Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki about the dead Yuji Itadori.
The reason why she is called as “natural born agitator” is that when she agitates with a very charming and cute smile.
Mai Zen’in’s heart goes out to Megumi Fushikuro. (vol. 3, chapter 17)
In chapter 17 of volume 3, Aoi Todo asks Megumi Fushiguro “What type of girls do you like?”.
Todo always asks this question when he meets someone for the first time, and if the answer is not to his liking, he is either disappointed or beaten up.
Fushiguro responds to Todo’s question
then I don’t need anything else.
This answer made Mai’s heart skip a beat, and even Kugisaki thought it was “Not a bad answer”.
It’s a strange thing that even with this cute expression on her face, it doesn’t feel like a flag of romance has been raised at all.
“I’ll teach you a lesson.” (vol. 3, chapter 17)
This is the scene from volume 3, chapter 17, when Mai was back-hugging Kugisaki.
Fushiguro’s “favourite type of woman” is mentioned by Todo, who says “I’m bored” and blasts him out of the room with a lariat.
Mai and Kugisaki then start off with a battle of tongues.
Maki is a hundred times prettier.
You gettin’ enough sleep?
I can see the pores on your face.
Then she took out her revolver and said
or I’ll teach you a lesson.
and started to fight.
Kugisaki’s agitation is as good as Mai’s, isn’t it?
Mai Zen’in’s lines are the epitome of a villain. (vol. 3, chapter 18)
This is the scene in chapter 18 of volume 3 where Todo finishes his rampage and leaves with Mai.
As they’re leaving, Mai says, “Don’t thind we’ll go this easy on you at the goodwill event.“, which is the epitome of a villain.
Incidentally, Mai was in the middle of being chokeslammed by Kugisaki, so the timing was perfect.
The reason why Todo wanted to leave in a hurry with Mai was to go to “Takada’s meet and greet event“, and Todo, who didn’t know the way around.
So Mai has to show him the way.
By the way, the story ends here in the manga though, in the anime, Todo and Mai actually went to the individual handshake event.
Then Mai is really into Takada-chan there.
Mai Zen’in Treated Satoru Gojo’s souvenir as rubbish (vol. 4, chapter 32)
In chapter 32 of volume 4, there is a scene where Satoru Gojo gives a souvenir to the members of Kyoto school on the day of the goodwill event.
Satoru Gojo, who has been on a business trip abroad, hands out “a certain tribe’s charms” to the Kyoto students, and as a surprise to the Tokyo students, he shows them his supposedly dead Yuji Itadori, saying “It’s the dearly departed Yuji Itadori!!“.
However, the Tokyo school group was shocked to see him alive, while the Kyoto school members were too absorbed in the souvenirs to care about him.
By the way, only Miwa looks happy about the “tribal charm”, while Todo looks reluctant and Mai picks at it as if it were food scraps.
Mai Zen’in can’t stop teasing Miwa (vol. 5, chapter 39)
In chapter 39 of volume 5, Miwa, Mai and Momo appear in a reminiscence scene of Mecha-maru.
In a scene that gives us a glimpse of the Kyoto school members in their everyday lives.
Then Miwa was tricked by Mai and Momo, and she gave Mecha-maru a battery as a Valentine.
As you can see, the girls of Kyoto School seem to get along well with each other, even though Miwa is basically the one being teased.
The sniper, Mai Zen’in (vol. 5, chapter 41)
This is the scene from volume 5, chapter 41, where Mai snipes Kugisaki.
In the forest, the Wild Rose uses “Resonance” on Momo’s broom to disable it, and when it loses altitude, they engage in a melee.
Then Kugisaki tries to hit Momo with a pico-pico hammer though, Mai saved Momo by her snipe.
The posture of the shot and the cute tone of voice made this the best scene in the story.
Mai Zen’in’s childhood (vol. 5, chapter 42)
In chapter 42 of volume 5, there is a scene where Mai reminisces about her past during a confrontation with Maki and Mai.
In the reminiscence scene, Maki and Mai’s childhood days are described, and the scene is popular for its cute little Maki and Mai.
Incidentally, since the Zen’-in family is one of the three big families of sorcerers, children who do not have the power of sorcery, such as Mai who are not blessed with talent, such as Maki who doesn’t have magic power, are treated as if they were persecuted.
In fact, Maki and Mai, despite being born into the Zen’in family, were forced to do odd jobs.
It must have been unimaginable how hard it was on Maki, who had no magic power.
Mai Zen’in’s true feelings (vol. 5, chapter 42)
In the 42nd chapter of volume 5, this is the scene where Mai expresses her true feelings to Maki.
After Maki left the Zen’in family to become a sorceress, Mai also went to Kyoto to become a sorceress, but Mai didn’t really want to become a sorceress at all.
She thought that she could live her life doing whatever she wanted as long as Maki was around.
But Maki has always been a go-getter, so she decided to leave home.
Mai really liked Maki since she was child, so she was always around Maki. That’s why she’s always been angry at her for leaving home.
But after Mai reveals her true feelings in this scene, she seems to have gotten over it.
Does Mai Zen’in have good relationship with Kugisaki? (vol. 6, chapter 52)
This is the scene from volume 6, chapter 52, when Haruta Shigemo invaded the magic technical college and engages Utahime.
Mai and Kugisaki are retired from the goodwill event, but they join the battle due to the emergency situation of the invasion of the cursed spirit and curse user.
Because it’s a combination of the two of course, every time Kugisaki speaks, Mai gets involved, and every time Mai says something, Kugisaki gives a comment with shouting.
“What are you talking about?” (vol. 7, chapter 54)
In the 54th chapter of the 7th volume, the continuation of the goodwill event became baseball game, and this is the scene when Kugisaki caused a brawl.
Panda broke the cursed puppet of Mechamaru, so a pitching machine was used as the Kyoto school’s pitcher as “spare Mechamaru”
But Kugisaki snapped, “It’s a pitching machine, no matter how you look at it!”.
Then Mai replied and agitated,
It’s a spare mecha-maru.
Pitching machine? what’s that?
You know a lot about machines.
What’re you, a geek?
with cute face.
“Nice pitch” (vol. 7, chapter 54)
In chapter 54 of volume 7, this is the scene when Maki intentionally hit Todo with a dead ball.
Todo was talking to Yuji, the catcher, for a long time. Then Maki threw a straight ball into Todo’s face.
Normally, the Kyoto school would have yelled at him for deadballing their teammate, but the Kyoto school bench yelled “nice pitch” and even the Tokyo school members joined in.
While it was confirmed that Todo was hated a lot, Mai would never have praised Maki’s pitching before the goodwill event.
This scene also shows that the two of them have gotten back together a bit.
[Jujutsu Kaisen] Mai Zen’in is the younger sister of Maki Zen’in! Cute and tall twins!
As mentioned above, Mai Zen’in is the twin sister of Maki Zen’in.
Both sisters are tall (around 170cm), pretty and stylish, but in the Zen’in family, looks don’t matter, the only thing that is recognised is their power as shamans.
Both of them were born into the elite family of the Zen’in, but Maki has no magic power and Mai has no talent, even though she has engraved a technique.
By the way, the idea of the Zen-in family is
- If you are not a Zen-in, you are not a sorcerer.
- If you are not a sorcerer, you are not human being.
It can be imagined that the family was extremely biased towards Maki, who had no magic powers.
If they hadn’t been born into the Zen’in family, they might have grown up as normal, close twins without any complications.
For a while after Mai’s appearance, she acts like an “agitator” and “hates Maki” anyway, but they are originally close sisters, as shown in a past episode in chapter 42 of volume 5 of the manga.
Since childhood, Mai has been afraid of the curses around her, but Maki is not afraid of them because she can’t see them, so Mai follows Maki around all the time.
Because she loved Maki so much, she felt “betrayed” when she left the Zen’in family.
[Jujutsu Kaisen] The haircut of Mai Zen’in is cute! Did it change during the story?
As for the hairstyle of Mai Zen’in, when she first appeared, she had short hair with a bob cut.
The bob haircut was also very cute, but as the story progressed, the hairstyle gradually changed.
The author, Mr. Gege Akutami, himself mentioned about the change of Mai’s hairstyle, and it seems that he moved to a more comfortable hairstyle that is easier to draw.
This is Mai’s hairstyle during the goodwill event, where she has short hair that is piled up on top.
She has short hair and is about 170cm tall, so when she gets involved with a female character, she is often asked “What? Are you guys dating?”.
[Jujutsu Kaisen] Mai Zen’in’s even cuter in the anime!
She also appears in the anime of Jujutsu Kaisen, which is particularly cute due to the beautiful artwork.
She has a beautiful appearance, and the intensity of her incitement is even more striking in the anime.
In the anime, the hairstyle at her first appearance is the same as in the original, and the hairstyle at the start of the goodwill event is also the same as in the original.
The short hairstyle that she wears during the goodwill event is popular, but some people say that the original hairstyle was better.
[Jujutsu Kaisen] The voice of Mai Zen’in is also cute! Her voice actress is Marina Inoue!
The voice of Mai Zen’in is played by Marina Inoue.
For your convenience, we have attached a video of the movie of Mai. You can see that she is as agitated as ever.
Her voice is a bit husky and sexy, which fits her image perfectly.
[Jujutsu Kaisen] Mai Zen’in is so into Takada-chan!
In “Juju Sampo” after the ending of the 8th episode of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, we see Mai Zen’in accompanying Todo to join the event of Takada-chan.
Mai is waiting for Todo at the handshake event with a very unhappy face, and when Todo sees her face, he gives her a handshake ticket.
For Todo, it’s a way to cheer up Mai and to be for missionary activity for Takada-chan.
When Mai receives the ticket, she looks really tired and says “It’s so annoying. But if I refuse, it’ll be much more annoying.” So, she joined the handshake session with Takada-chan.
She actually shook hands with Takada-chan, but since female fans are rare for Takada-chan, she got very close to her and whispered in her ear.
After the handshake, Todo asked, “How was it?” Mai replied, “Nothing special.” But in her heart, she said
It was a moment when Takada-chan gained another fan.
Conclusion of “[Jujutsu Kaisen] Mai Zen’in’s cute scenes! Her height, hairstyle and voice actor!”
In this article, we’ve introduced some cute scenes of Mai Zen’in in the spellcasting battle, her changing hairstyle, her relationship with Maki, and her relationship with the tall idol Takada-chan.
Mai is a character with a terribly bad first impression because she suddenly starts off with an agitation from her first appearance, but her popularity has increased due to the battle she showed with Maki at the goodwill event.
As a student of the Kyoto school, she doesn’t get as much action as Yuji and the others, but hopefully she’ll get more opportunities to appear in the future.
