[Jujutsu Kaisen] Profile of Jogo! His technique, grade, technique, domain expansion, birthplace, voice actor, etc.

We have compiled the following list of Jogo’s profile.

When Jogo first appeared in the series with Geto(Kenjaku) and the other cursed spirits, he looked like a short, monocle-eyed, short-tempered like underdog.

However, the actual battle scenes in the story showed that he has a level of strength that is completely unmanageable even for a 1st grade sorcerer, including earth and fire based techniques and domain expansion.

In addition, while he appeared to be short-tempered and belligerent, there were scenes in which he cared for Hanami and Dagon, showing that he is quite kind for his allies.

[Jujutsu Kaisen] Explanation of Jogo’s technique and domain expansion

In this section, we will explain the strength of Jogo’s techniques and domain expansion.

Jogo is one of the most powerful cursed spirits in the world, and his attacks are very flashy in appearance and destructive power.

In particular, his domain expansion is far more destructive than other cursed spirits.

When Jogo gets excited, Kenjaku, who is with him, says “It’s too hot for Jogo”.

Jogo’s technique is based on flame.

The main technique of Jogo is to emit flames. He can create localized jets of fire, or emit heat rays from his hands to burn his opponents.

He can also create a large number of “exploding bugs”, which is a very versatile attack method.

Localized volcanic eruption

Localized volcanic eruption(C)Gege Akutami/Shueisha

One of the most common ways in which Jogo attacks in battle is to create a volcanic crater-like hole in the ground, from which he can shoot out a powerful volcanic eruption.

This can be used to create a sudden volcanic opening in a wall near an opponent, allowing them to be caught by surprise.

Although it did no damage to Gojo’s “Limitless cursed technique”, it is a technique strong enough to kill an ordinary sorcerer instantly, and to disable even a 1st-grade sorcerer with a single blow.

Heat rays

Heat rays(C)Gege Akutami/Shueisha

In addition to creating jets as described above, the jogo hand can also emit heat rays at will.

Whether it is a long-distance heat ray, or a close-range flame that can burn an opponent, Jogo’s hands can produce a wide variety of flames.

As usual, it had no effect on Gojo, but 1st-grade sorcerers such as Kento Nanami and Naobito Zen’in were instantly crippled by this technique, showing that even 1st-grade sorcerers can’t deal with him.

In addition, due to the wide range of the heat ray, it is possible to attack and burn multiple opponents at the same time.

Ember insects

Ember insects(C)Gege Akutami/Shueisha

Ember insects” is a technique used against Satoru Gojo in the 14th chapter of the 2nd volume of the manga, in which countless giant flies sprout from the volcanic head of a Jogo and head towards the opponent.

As soon as they touch the flies, they emit a very loud buzzing noise and launch a sonic attack on the opponent, and when he is frightened, they all self-destruct at once.

The simultaneous self-destruction of the fire and gravel bugs is so powerful that a huge pillar of fire rises.

It is because of Gojo that he is unharmed, but an ordinary sorcerer would be killed instantly by the two-stage attack of sound waves and explosions.

Maximum: Meteor

Maximum: Meteor(C)Gege Akutami/Shueisha

Maximum: Meteor” is the technique he unleashed on his Sukuna in the manga volume 13, chapter 115.

“Maximum” refers to the depth of the technique, excluding domain expansion, and “Meteor” is a special move in Jogo’s technique.

“Meteor” is a technique to drop a huge burning meteorite at the opponent, turning the whole area into a scorched earth.

In this case, it was aimed at Sukuna, but as it burns and crushes over a very wide area, it is also very effective against many.

If Jogo unleash this technique in a must-hit state in domain expansion, most of his opponents will die instantly.

Jogo’s domain expansion “Conffin of the iron mountain”

Jogo's domain expansion (C)Gege Akutami/Shueisha

Jogo’s domain expansion is “Conffin of the iron mountain“.

This is the domain that embodies Jogo’s anger towards human beings, as it is the domain of Jogo’s birth, a scorching space of burning earth and overflowing magma.

It is so hot that an ordinary sorcerer could burn out the inside of the “Conffin of the iron mountain“, but this heat had no effect on Satoru Gojo when he used it on him in the 15th chapter of volume 2 of the manga.

And due to the effect of the greatest feature of domain expansion, “attacks by technique must hit“, the attack reached Gojo for the first time.

Because domain expansion neutralizes the opponent’s technique, the attack reaches Gojo even if he is a user of “Limitless cursed technique”.

In addition to the strength of Jogo, the increase in status due to domain expansion and the special effect of the technique would have killed an ordinary sorcerers instantly.

Incidentally, in this battle, Gojo’s domain expansion “Unlimited Void” overrode Jogo’s domain expansion.

And Jogo was defeated before Gojo’s overwhelming strength, even though Jogo invoked his domain expansion.

In the jujutsu world, cursed spirits are ranked from 4th grade to special grade, and a special grade cursed spirit is one that a 1st grade sorcerers would have to take on in multiples.

Then Jogo is ranked as one of the strongest cursed spirits.

The true nature of the Jogo is that it is a cursed spirit born from “the fear of the earth“, and like Hanami and Dagon, it is derived from the fear of disasters and the fury of nature.

Domain expansion of Jogo is like the inside of a volcanic crater, an innate domain that is very characteristic of Jogo himself.

Satoru Gojo, when he saw Hanami, said that “It’s close to a regular spirit.“, and it seems that Jogo, although a cursed spirit, has a similar position to a regular spirit.

[Jujutsu Kaisen] Jogo is very strong in both technique and domain expansion!

So far, we have talked about Jogo’s techniques and the strength of his domain expansion.

The first impression of Jogo is not so strong, because he is short, always hunchbacked, and behaves like an old man, but in fact he is very strong.

In this section, we will explain in detail about the strength of Jogo, based on his reputation and battle scenes.

The strength of Jogo is equivalent to 8-9 Sukuna fingers.

In the 12th chapter of the 2nd volume of the manga, Geto(Kenjaku) describes Jogo’s strength as ‘equivalent to 8 or 9 Sukuna fingers‘.

A cursed spirit who have taken in even one of Sukuna’s fingers is considered as a special-grade cursed spirit, so we can see that Jogo’s strength is considerable even among special-grade spirits.

Even within the rank of ‘Special grade cursed spirits’, there is a huge range of strength, so it is impossible to measure the strength just by this ranking.

In the story, the most obvious measure of strength is “equivalent to how many Sukuna’s fingers“.

The firepower and strength of Jogo’s technique is the best among all the cursed spirits!

As mentioned earlier, Jogo’s main technique is the manipulation of flames.

It’s destructive power is enough to disable even a 1st-class sorcerer with a single blow, and if you’re serious, you can turn the whole area of Shibuya into a scorched earth.

If the Shibuya Incident had triggered domain expansion “Conffin of the iron mountain“, the damage would have been even more devastating.

The other special grade cursed spirits that work with Geto(kenjaku) are Mahito, Hanami and Dagon, but among these members, Jogo is by far the strongest in terms of firepower.

Jogo’s domain expansion will burn ordinary sorcerers to death just by entering.

Jogo’s domain expansion “Conffin of the iron mountain” introduced earlier will burn to death the moment it is pulled in by an ordinary sorcerer.

By the way, Mahito’s domain expansion “Self embodiment of perfection” is a “must-hit instant death technique” in the domain, because Mahito’s “Idle transfiguration” is an instant death attack.

It is unfair move that will win his opponents the moment they enters his domain.

On the other hand, Jogo’s domain expansion doesn’t have an instant death effect, but as mentioned before, it has enough firepower to burn an ordinary sorcerer to death just by entering it.

So, except for out-of-spec opponents like Gojo or Sukuna, it is in a sense the ‘instant death’ technique.

Jogo can move at a very high speed.

He is short, hunched over and speaks in an old-fashioned way, but he is actually the fastest of the False Natsuyu Clan’s special class of spirits.

In the 107th chapter of the 13th volume of the manga, Dagon said to Naobito Zen’in as “He’s fast! Perhaps even faster than Jogo!”.

Apart from Gojo, Naobito Zen’in was said to be “the fastest sorcerer”, and Dajon is unable to keep up with his speed.

And from the way he spoke, it was clear that Jogo was also the second fastest.

Jogo can move at a very high speed.(C)Gege Akutami/Shueisha

The true value of his speed was demonstrated in the 111th chapter of the 13th volume of the manga, when he appeared after the death of Dagon, and burns Kento Nanami, Maki Zen’in and Naobito Zen’in in a matter of seconds.

Jogo moved so fast that even Kento Nanami could not react at all, and Naobito Zen’in could not fight properly because he was seriously injured and lost his right arm.

With such strength, Jogo didn’t even need to use his domain expansion.

The fact that 1st grade sorcerers were defeated without being able to do anything shows that the strength of Jogo is overwhelming.

Jogo is offensive! Its defence and HP are lower than those of Hanami and Dagon.

Jogo is offensive! Its defence and HP are lower than those of Hanami and Dagon.(C)Gege Akutami/Shueisha

In the free space of the 51st chapter of the 6th volume of the manga, the author, Gege Akutami, explained the characteristics of Hanami.

Hanami is so tough that she could not be exorcised by the five consecutive “black flashes” of Yuji Itadori and the rapid-fire attacks of Aoi Todo’s “Playful Cloud“.

However, Jogo seems to be less durable than Hanami, as he states that “If the same attack were to hit Jogo, he would die.“.

In addition, in the 107th chapter of the 13th volume of the manga, Kento Nanami said that “Dagon’s HP is an endless feeling”, so it seems that Dagon’s physical strength is endless.

Based on these facts, the special grade cursed spirits are assigned the following statuses.

  • Jogo: attack power, agility
  • Hanami: defence
  • Dagon: HP
  • Mahito: Special attack

Mahito does not have a special status, but he does have a special technique called “Idle transfiguration“, which is an instant death attack, and no damage from normal attacks.

[Jujutsu Kaisen] What is the reason for the “weak image” of Jogo?

[Jujutsu Kaisen] What is the reason for the (C)Gege Akutami/Shueisha

So far, we have explained about Jogo’s technique, his domain expansion and his strength.

Although Jogo is one of the strongest cursed spirits in the series, he has a weak image in the story.

I’ll explain why Jogo has a weak image in this story, focusing on the battle scenes.

In Jogo’s first battle, Jogo was beaten up by Satoru Gojo.

In Jogo's first battle, Jogo was beaten up by Satoru Gojo.(C)Gege Akutami/Shueisha

The main reason why the image of Jogo as weak in spite of his strength is due to his first battle against Satoru Gojo.

In the early part of the story, he tried to fight against Satoru Gojo, but all of his attacks are nullified, and he is blown away several hundred meters by the reversal technique “Red“.

As mentioned above, Jogo himself is extremely powerful, but the opponent was too bad, and this is the reason for this result.

Because it appeared in the beginning of the story like an underdog, it left a “weak impression”.

In the second round, Jogo was unbeatable against Naobito Zen’in, Maki Zen’in, Kento Nanami.

In the second round, Jogo was unbeatable against Naobito Zen'in, Maki Zen'in, Kento Nanami.(C)Gege Akutami/Shueisha

The scene in which Jogo played an active part the most is the one after the battle of Dagon, when he took on Naobito Zen’in, Kento Nanami and Maki Zen’in all together.

Even within domain expansion of the Dagon, he was not able to kill all of them instantly.

In addition, there was an irregularity in the middle of the battle, when Toji Fushiguro intervened, and Dagon was exorcised.

Even if Toji Fushiguro hadn’t intervened, it is possible that he could have been defeated in any case in the general attack afterwards, because he had escaped through a hole in Dajon’s domain expansion by Megumi Fushiguro’s domain expansion.

However, none of them could even react properly to Jogo, and all three of them were burnt to a crisp in an instant by his speed.

For most sorcerers, including 1st grade sorcerers, Jogo is by far the superior being, and this is the way Jogo should be and his strength.

In the third round, Jogo was killed by Sukuna.

In the third round, Jogo was killed by Sukuna.(C)Gege Akutami/Shueisha

After his only playing an active part in the manga, he goes back to his usual unfortunate situation.

From the 13th volume of the manga, chapter 114, we see the battle of Sukuna vs Jogo, and at this point Sukuna had eaten 15 fingers, and even with his strength, he couldn’t compete with him at all.

He was beaten up by Sukuna’s physical attacks and slashes, and his special attack ‘Maximum:Meteor‘ was easily avoided.

And even if he tried to expand his domain to make it a special attack, it would end up being covered by Sukuna’s domain expansion anyway, so he couldn’t even hit one of his attacks, let alone win.

In the manga volume 13, chapter 114, in the free space, Jogo sighed and muttered, “My opponents are all like this…“, which must have been his heartfelt voice.

Conclusion of “[Jujutsu Kaisen] Jogo’s domain expansion and techniques!”

In this article, we have explained the profile of Jogo, his technique, domain expansion, and his strength as a special grade cursed spirit.

Despite being an enemy character, Jogo was somewhat lovable character, and his end was a scene that saddened many fans.

It would be interesting to see a spinoff about the life of the cursed spirits.
