[Jujutsu Kaisen] How Satoru Gojo was sealed in “Prison Realm”?
It was during the Shibuya Incident that Gojo was sealed up.
The existence of Gojo was the biggest obstacle for cursed spirits and Geto(Kenjaku), but they gave up on defeating him because of his unbelievable strength, and set up a strategy to seal him from the beginning.
Geto(Kenjaku) and cursed spirits had been preparing for a long time to seal Gojo, and they deployed their strategy at the Shibuya Incident.
Civilians calling out for Satoru Gojo in the Shibuya Incident (Vol. 10, chapter 83 – )
The Shibuya Incident began in the 83rd chapter of the 10th volume of the manga, when a 400-metre radius curtain was lowered around the Tokyu Department Store in Shibuya.
This curtain confines “only ordinary people”, and inside, the trapped people were panicking.
Inside, the trapped people were panicking and shouting, “Bring here Satoru Gojo!”.
Of course, there was no way that the ordinary people know about Satoru Gojo, so they were being told by Geto(Kenjaku).
The upper echelons of the shaman decided to “let Satoru Gojo deal with the matter alone”, and Gojo took the invitation and heads for the B5F of Shibuya station.
When Gojo goes to the B5F of Shibuya Station, the platform for the Fukutoshin Line, he found Jogo, Hanami, and Chouso waiting for him on the tracks.

Jogo’s goal is that “Gojo is not capable of attacking a large number of people”, and they are looking for an opportunity to seal him.
However, contrary to their belief, Gojo launched domain expansion”Unlimited Void“, which involves the general public.
“Unlimited Void” forces an “infinite number of perceptions and transmissions” into the brains of those inside the domain, which would normally burn out the brains or cause a mental breakdown.
But here Gojo minimizes the damage by activating domain expansion for only 0.2 seconds.

Satoru Gojo is sealed in “Prison Realm” by Geto(Kenjaku) (Vol. 11, chapter 91)
When Gojo was trapped in “Prison Realm“, all of his techniques stop functioning, so even Gojo Satoru is unable to break free of his restraints by himself.
And then the prison boundary is closed, and the sealing of Gojo is completed according to the strategy of Geto(Kenjaku) and others.
But just after the sealing, when Geto, with a look of satisfaction on his face, was about to say to Mahito and the others, “Well, from now on…”, “Prison Realm” became incredibly heavy and fell into the ground.
It seems that it takes a lot of effort to seal Gojo, even if it is “Prison Realm“, and until the information of Gojo’s existence is processed, “Prison Realm” cannot be moved.
Even sealing Gojo is no easy task.
[Jujutsu Kaisen] When will Satoru Gojo be unsealed and resurrected?
So far, we have talked about the beginning of the Shibuya Incident and the sealing of Satoru Gojo.
Satoru Gojo, who is trapped in “Prison Realm“, has left the story for the time being, and in order to revive him, it is necessary to take back “Prison Realm” from Geto(Kenjaku).
So let’s take a look some hypotheses about when Gojo will be revived.
Resurrection time hypothesis 1: He is resurrected in Shibuya Incident(He wasn’t resurrected after all.)
In the Shibuya Incident, Geto(Kenjaku) side has also suffered a lot of damage, Hanami was dead, Dagon aws dead, Jogo was dead, and Choso was on the side of Yuji Itadori.
Mahito was taken in by Geto’s technique “Cursed Spirit Manipulation” and only Geto and Uraume are left on the enemy side.
Both of them are as strong as special grade spellcasters, so they are not easy to defeat, but on the other hand, if Yuji and the others can deal with these two, the Shibuya Incident will be cleaned up.
However, there is a connection between Uraume and Sukuna in chapter 116, and Uraume will not be defeated until this foreshadowing is recovered.
And in chapter 136, the Shibuya Incident is over, and Geto(Kenjaku) has escaped with “Prison Realm”, so Gojo’s revival was not possible in Shibuya incident.
Resurrection time hypothesis 2: After Yuta Okkotsu and Kinji Hakari appear
In the 11th chapter of the second volume of the manga, Satoru Gojo said,
Second year student, Okkotsu
They’ll be as good as me somday.
It’s possible that after the Shibuya Incident, these two will also join the fight and work towards the recovery and revival of Gojo.
Since Gojo is too strong to begin with, it would be difficult to balance the story if he is resurrected too soon.
So we may enter a phase of “new forces joining and main characters growing”. However, in this case, Gojo’s resurrection will be a long time later.
Resurrection time hypothesis 3: After Yuji eats 20 Sukuna’s fingers
As of Volume 13, chapter 112 of the manga, Yuji Itadori has eaten 15 of Sukuna’s fingers.
So he is already at 75% of Sukuna’s full power.
As the story progresses, Yuji will probably eat 20 Sukuna’s fingers, and there may be a battle of ‘100% Sukuna vs resurrected Satoru Gojo‘.
In this case, as with the “after the appearance of Hakari and Okkotsu” theory, Gojo’s unsealing and resurrection will be a long time later.

In the 90th chapter of the 11th volume of the manga, Geto(Kenjaku) talks about the “activation conditions of Prison Realm, the target must be kept within a radius of 4 meters of the prison boundary for one minute in terms of brain time”.
But for the seal, nothing is said about the crucial “how to remove the seal“.
Then Yuji and the others met to Tengen and he knew how to remove the seal of Gojo.

There are three hardles in Jujutsu Kaisen! Shibuya Incident is still the first one!
The author of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gege Akutami has the following to say about the future development of Jujutsu Kaisen.
It has also been revealed that Shibuya Incident is one of the “big hardles”, which means that there will be two more Shibuya Incident class stories in the future.
If the third of the ‘big hardle’ is the story of Sukuna, maybe the second one is “The Culling Game“.
So Gojo may not be unsealed during “The Culling Game“, then he will be revived in the third one I guess.
[Jujutsu Kaisen] Possibility of Satoru Gojo’s death before the unsealing and resurrection!
We have talked about the time and method of Gojo’s unsealing, but we have also thought about whether he will survive or die in the future.
In this section, we’ll divide the two theories into two, Satoru Gojo will live and Satoru Gojo will die, and explain the possibilities of each.
Without Satoru Gojo, Yuji Itadori will be taken the death penalty.
First of all, the reason for the theory that Gojo Satoru will be alive, is that when Gojo is gone, the secret death penalty of Yuji is likely to be done.
During the Shibuya Incident, Yuji, who was fed with a lot of Sukuna’s fingers, has temporarily surrendered his body to Sukuna, and in the meantime, he has slaughtered Minako and Nanako, as well as many ordinary citizens on the streets of Shibuya.
It seems that without Gojo’s flexibility, no one wouldn’t be able to protect Yuji, so the theory is that “Gojo may survive in order to keep the hero from being executed”.
If Satoru Gojo is not resurrected, the balance of power in the shaman world will collapse.
This is also related to first reason above, but since Gojo had become widespread in the world of shaman, various kinds of selfishness were allowed.
In addition, there are many curse users and cursed spirits in this world who have been quiet because they are afraid of Gojo.
If Gojo dies without being resurrected, the balance of power among these people will collapse, and the world will be in chaos, while curse-users and cursed spirits will go on a rampage, causing even more chaos.
Therefore, the theory is that “if Gojo dies, it will be too chaotic and he will survive”.
However, I feel that this is not a good reason, because a world where the balance of power has collapsed would be a story in itself.
Without Satoru Gojo, there is no one who can defeat Sukuna.
In manga volume 14, chapter 118-119, there is a battle scene between Fushiguro’s technique ‘Eight-handred sword divergent sila divine general Mahoraga‘ and Sukuna.
In this battle, Sukuna had defeated Mahoroga by means of domain expansion ‘Malevolent Shrine‘ and ‘Open‘, and at the same time had cleared a 200m radius of the streets of Shibuya.
Even with this strength, he still seemed to have plenty of room to spare, and this was still only 15 fingers of Sukuna.
“There is no one but Gojo who can defeat such a monster anymore”, is the theory that Gojo will survive until the battle with Sukuna.
Maybe the situation will change when Hakari or Yuta Okkotsu join the battle, but I certainly can’t think of any other sorcerer who can beat Sukuna.
Satoru Gojo’s strength is too strong for the story.

Therefore, in order to make the story more exciting, there is no possibility that Gojo will not be resurrected until the final Arc, or that he will die before the seal is lifted.
In short, it’s a theory that “for the sake of the story’s progress, he might die”.

In fact, the author of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gege Akutami has published a Q&A.
In it, there was a very ominous sentence.
but I think that either only one of the four (Yuji, Kugisaki, Fushiguro and Gojo) will die, or all but one will die.
In other words, by the last chapter, of the four (Yuji, Kugisaki, Fushiguro, and Gojo),
Either way, it’s a word that fans need to be very prepared for…
Especially in the case of the latter (i.e. three deaths), it’s highly doubtful that “Gojo alone survives” without the main character, so there’s a possibility that Gojo’s death is already decided.
